Markie's Wrath

Mark Harding was also angry after the BIA investigators visit this week....He was so nerved up he burst into a meeting between Marge Seagraves and Carlo Hendricks concerning questions about the Elders van and their account, that he couldn't contain himself. After burning rubber across the tribal parking lot, Harding,raging, and screaming stormed into the meeting asking " What is he doing in here?" And that Marge, "better not be showing him anything." Hummm.
What is there to hide Markie? Every tribal member has a right to look at the tribal books and bank accounts. They also have a right to listen to the audio tapes of all those meetings where the Council passed the 37 ordinances and constitutional amendments, pay raises for themselves, the hiring of more Fryes, the payment of money for the bobcat with no title....on and on. Course the " previous administration" had all the audio tapes available and written minutes available and detailed monthly financial reports for anyone who requested them. Even Amelia and Steven Bigham were allowed to look at the books but they didn't know that the Fisherman's fund had nothing to do with the Tribe so they were not going to find whatever they thought they were looking for when examining the tribal accounts.
The trouble for Cedric and the gang is that they can never produce Markie's coveted bank accounts...AKA the tribe's bank accounts cause they are damning indeed. "Ta Ta" can't produce the audio taped minutes, because they don't exist.
There is no record of this phantom tribal government actions. None.
But apparently the Elders will keep demanding the info.
As for Mark. He need only look to the fate of a Miami City Commissioner indicted last week for getting caught taking $50k in federal grant money given to Miami Dade County.
That scenario has a familiar ring to it. All the Housing rehab and other Housing grant contracts go to his company WampWorx. The Treasurer no less, writing himself checks out of HUD grants. Not good, not good at all.
Scream all you want Mark, there's no reversal of fortune for you. The bank records will tell all.

The Tip of the Iceburg

Tribal Council Offices--Aaron Tobey was angry. He was angry because he was caught in a lie. Two BIA investigators were at the Council offices to investigate the misuse of the legal dollars allotted in a game and fish grant. Seems that Aaron authorized the use of the legal fees for the wrong thing. Well the BIA had a bunch a questions about it ....and when asked, Aaron promptly blamed it on Chuckie Green...cause Chuckie was not there to defend himself. Well, Quan called him on it and demanded that they get Chuckie on the phone. They got him and he confirmed to the investigators what Quan had said. This was not good for Aaron, who was extremely angry about being busted.
It was so serious, Aaron accosted the younger Quan about exposing him. Course, Aaron's not much on fighting, being the Plymouth Plantation tour guide that he is, so no tribal man in their right mind would take him seriously...neither did Quan. Besides, how often does Aaron challenge anyone, accept when he's backed into a corner like a rodent.
The unraveling of the administration has begun. Aaron, a mail clerk who may have a high school diploma, has an authority complex because he has to be in charge of everything. He has anointed himself to many professional roles on grants where he does not have even the slightest smidgen of training. He is a social worker,(who knows nothing of any family in the tribe), and a Indian Child Welfare Act worker
(without knowing who is eligible under the federal law....initiated by John Peters)he's so ridiculous, it landed him and Cedric in the District Court for neglect of tribal children. He also misrepresents himself as a legal expert and has screwed up the fish and game efforts with the surrounding towns. Aaron is clearly more trouble than he is worth.
The appearance of the investigators is the result of many memos, detailed packets that were requested by the bureau concerning their grants to the tribe.
Clearly, a typical inquiry for clarification could be handled through e-mails and a conference call. This was not a friendly visit.
The only thing the tribe can be thankful for is the fact that Aaron Tobey got the ball rolling with the start of the BIA investigations. The scrutiny of the misappropriations has started and intervention is soon to follow.
It could save the tribe from one of the greatest catastrophes in it's history.

Jessie's Branding

The Museum of the American Indian black Indian exhibit has many Mashpee Wampanoag angry...It turns out that in 2008, some tribal members were asked to take family photographs by a Smithsonian team for this display. Jessie Baird coordinated the photo shoot and was the Smithsonian contact. Jessie had gone rouge and failed to tell the families what the pictures would be used for. Nor was she authorized by the Council ("Previous Administration") to do anything with the Smithsonian regarding exhibits or anything to do with imagery that would define the tribe.
Course Jessie forgot to tell the tribal members what the pictures were for.....some of them found out with the opening of the Exhibit Friday the 13th in Washington D.C.
Their pictures and their tribal affiliation are in an exhibit entitled "Indivisible: African-Native American Lives in the Americas."
Course Jessie's quest for attention and credibility comes at a high price for the tribe.
This is not an exhibit focusing on the tribal profile or a proper introduction to the world for the people who survived first contact and have a detailed documented history.
Jessie in all her unqualified glory, is apparently on a mission. She has disrupted the order and accurate processing of membership of the tribe, bringing in members who have abandoned the tribe and have not had anything to do with the tribe for more than 20 years. Course the Council has to authorize all members put on the rolls. But since when do they follow the laws..what laws?
So why would they know or care about what Jessie was doing on an international level?
Combined with the tribal website homepage, what are people supposed to think?
Oh....the exhibit is on display until May 31, 2010. The tribe is branded for sure.

I Gotcha Turkey Cedric !

Last year when Cedric was calling Gayle Andrews a " Moth-r Fuc-ing -itch" in the tribal parking lot. Seems he was mad cause she was not promoting him as the next tribal chair. Then he was threatened Nellie Ramos five minutes later.
Seems Cedric was tape recording the Tribal Executive Sessions so Contract Judge Judge Rochelle Ducheneaux was alerted (she never responded) along with the District Attorney. A few hours after that he was promising the tribe hundreds of turkeys for Christmas. It was all part of the Great Turkey Campaign Scam that never materialized because Cromwell said he was getting the turkeys from Fidelity and he had been fired from there many months before.
No one could figure out why those White people would be paying Cedric all that money(ha ha!) to e-mail David, Shawn and Desi all day long about " Council Agendas" "Sunday Meeting Agendas," "Emergency Meetings" and hundreds of the most ridiculous e-mails in the world. They all came from a guy with a lot of time on his hands. Hundreds and hundreds of e-mails, not about how to help the tribe or resolve one of many problems, just harassing annoying ridiculous e-mails.
Cedric was so absolutely desperate to be elected that he would do anything....anything to be the chairman and get $123,000 a year, and continue to do nothing.
Oh, he managed million dollar accounts. Right, sure he did... but he lost his home and his administration can't account for $1.4 m.
The latested $100k loan he says is to run the tribe...went to back pay for his regime and his buddy ($90K), another Fidelity reject, who can't raise a dime if his life depended on it.
Thus the tribe is living a continuing nightmare.
With him, Aaron, Markie, Ta Ta,Yvonne,the Mystery Tribal Court run by Yvonne and Ducheneaux and Sockabasin, setting the precedent for government corruption...because it's all intertwined.
Course David Pocknett made fun of Cedric in the December 2008 Council meeting because to Pocknett the Mashpee way is to just give the needy families the turkeys and say nothing, instead of making it a campaign platform. Cedric lured the phantom voters...the illegal ones..but not the core. Cedric knows the legitimate members did not vote for him. That is his slate's legacy. Scorned by the Tribe.
Well, this ain't Mashpee no more...its Dorcester...the rules are different there.
This weekend Jessie has the Mashpee placed in the Smithsonian as a black tribe.So are the Choctaw, Chickasaw, Seminole, Cherokee, Creeks, Pawnees and all the other that intermarried with slaves in the mid 1800's ...are they black Indians? So are the blue eyed Cherokees of Oklahoma...the white tribe? But who gave Jessie the authority to define the Mashpee and according to whose standards? Fred Nahwooksy, a Comanchee exibition coordinator for the Smithsonian...who is no anthropologist...but he's big on opinion no doubt. And Jessie with no credentials that she can produce, has defined the Mashpee for the Smithsonian? She never grew up in Mashpee and could not identify any families and was confusing many with Aquinnah. Now she's hiding on the Island. Jessie makes it up as she goes along.
Back to the turkeys....whatever those foolish fliers tell tribal members about the time to pick them up...the best thing to do is to come a day or two early cause you know with 11 Fryes out of 17 on the payroll...."THEM BIRDS 'LL BE GONE"

Foreclosure ! Foreclosure! Send Cedric Right Over!

One of the first stories on Reel Wamps in Feburary was the fact that after the election, the first family had moved from Sea Mist to Plaza Del Sol. Sort of like going from the Ritz Carlton to Motel 6. Now we know why. Not only had Cedric failed to pay the taxes and the utilities on the Attleboro home to the tune of $14,000....he didn't pay the mortgage and they foreclosed.
This is nothing to celebrate whether you like Cedric or not.
But it tells you who Cedric is.
He shared the pain of loosing what little he had like so many of his tribal members, but he never stopped to figure out how he could use a bad thing to help his people survive like generations of leaders before him. He just kept collecting a check and gave nothing back.
He clearly is not Mashpee with all their distinct oddities....they are unique where ever they land in this world. They never really fit in.

Cedric has no idea that with all their weirdness, oddities, elegance, tradition and defiant spirit....they are a people who constitute the profile of a tribe that laughs at those west of thier place of abundance, because they still live on their anncestral lands.
The Mashpee Tribe survived 389 years.
And for all those who make fun of the people who grew up in Mashpee, or spent a lot of time in this place....there is something to be said for the survival skills that are constant and seem to work "don't ya know." Yaaaaaaaaaass Yaaaaaaas!
Cedric...you can't represent people you don't know. And before its over, you will have to admit that you told so many God awful lies about being a Finacial Wizard...and on top of that.. allowed the Tribe to discintigrate to an indescribale low.
Course the Tribe knew it all along... "don't ya know".

Hey Wizzie...Cedric Says "You're Going to Take Care of This"

Cedric was bragging that he talked to Wizipan Garriott about his troubles. Cedric said "Wizzie" said he "would take care of it." Take care of what? Course Cedric said Wizipan is the White House liaison for Indian Country....Well of course he isn't....He is the Policy Advisor to Assistant Secretary for Indian Affairs, and that would be Larry Echo Hawk.
Wizzie was the liaison during the Obama campaign, but the White House liaison is a woman who also happens to be a Souix....anyway, it is yet another reminder that Cedric's disconnect with the players of the world continues to widen.
Cedric's riff with the Elders has turned him into a pariah in Indian Country. It's not as though a guy like Wizipan will sully his reputation with a character like HWLA.

---115k Miscellaneous misappropriations (boat washings,personal travel, Bobcat purchase lacking title,random checks to political supporters, etc)
---After squandering resources knowing the investor money had stopped and no new unencumbered revenues were available, the Regime went on to spent those limited resources, and the unspent revenues from the previous Administration 2007-2008
(late summer), on themselves rather than protecting the interests of the tribe.
---Self Determination Grant money is likely deposited in a different bank to hide the fact the the Cromwell slate is illegally paying their salaries out of the money--a blatant violation of Federal law. The grant money is specifically to pay tribal employees, not elected officials on the Council.

Paging Marty Tobey...If you don't approve of the Elders questioning your cousins Cedric and Aaron.. asking for the bank statements, and audio tape records of Council meetings, maybe you and your hastily concocted "Platinum, Gold, Silver Preferred Elders Council" can explain what happened to the money.

Better yet,since you are such a legal beagle,you must know why the tribe is paying a so called "tribal attorney" who is so clueless that he has to take direction from the opposing attorney about how to set up the "Tribal Court" (better known as Yvonne's Court)and the Federal Rules of procedure.You can thank Mark Harding for that. That's also all in the public record.

Of course Marty Tobey, ESQUIRE, must also know why Judge Ducheneaux is responsible for establishing the Cromwell Government when she admitted (twice) that she did not have the authority to do so. So Marty in all your legal wisdom, is Cromwell and Crew in power because the Judge's contract (with only Shawn's signature, no Council resolution) is invalid? She said that the absence of a Council Resolution on a tribal member's contract made the contract invalid...before she even held the hearing. Real ethical judge eh? But since her contract is the same way, that means hers is invalid. Or is it because she was not a District Court Judge, in the tribal court system because the court didn't exist until August '09. That would mean that everything Ducheneaux did as an "opinion" on election day and in January was....well....invalid eh Marty?
